Muqtasid is published for the first time in June 2010 with offline submission. The journal then gets it's ISSN for printed version in November 2012. In May 2016, the journal gets it's ISSN for online version which then changes the name into Muqtasid: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Perbankan Syariah.
Starting from June 2018 edition (Volume 9 No. 1), the journal applies many changes as the effort of the improvement such as the use of full online submission, the use of a more sophisticated plagiarism checker, the use of APA Citation style as the standard system for the references, the use of body note as the way to cite to change the inclusive note in the previous edition, etc.
Muqtasid: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Perbankan Syariah is indexed by DOAJ since October 2017 which then followed by other indexing systems such as EBSCO, BASE, WorldCat,
